PETER FRAMPTON Guest-Hosting 'Nights With Alice Cooper' This Coming Week
October 17, 2010In anticipation of an unusually ultra busy roll-up to Halloween, Alice Cooper has enlisted rock legend Grammy winner Peter Frampton to serve as guest host for one week, starting Monday, October 18, on "Nights With Alice Cooper". While Alice preps for tricks and treats, Peter will prove his mettle as a classic rockologist just as Alice has done for the last six and half years on the internationally syndicated show. The two have been great friends for years and crossed paths this summer as featured performers at London, Ontario's Rock the Park festival (see photo below). Frampton noted, "Because Alice has to prepare a super-spectacular Halloween week of shows, he's knighted me as the only suitable substitute. I'm not worthy, I'm not worthy!" He went on to say, "Alice and I have known each other for years but have never played onstage together until this show in Canada. It was a fantastic night for both of us. Being invited to play 'School's Out' was the best part. For a scary guy, alice is very much the charmer!"
"The Coop," whose Gruesome Twosome Halloween Hootenanny tour with Rob Zombie is currently frightening audiences around the country, commented, "As far as being a repository of great rock and roll stories and a font of music trivia, arcana and minutiae, Peter is second to none. Our audience is in for a treat when Peter, so to speak, shows them the way." As host for the week of October 18 on "Nights with Alice Cooper", Frampton will share anecdotes about his experiences from his years on the road and in the studio with the HERD, HUMBLE PIE, and as a solo artist, including his recently released album, "Thank You Mr. Churchill". The Grammy guitar great will also be recounting colorful tales about his encounters with THE ROLLING STONES (Bill Wyman was his first manager!),LYNYRD SKYNYRD, THE ALLMAN BROTHERS, as well as his his work with director Cameron Crowe in the film "Almost Famous" and more.
"Nights with Alice Cooper" is produced and distributed by the United Stations Radio Networks. Alice anchors 30 hours per week of original classic rock programming and his time slot reaches 1.1 million listeners (12+) each week, and his affiliates have a weekly reach of over 6 millions listeners.
